The laughter has filled the tea room the last few months with our Murder Mystery Teas! While enjoying tea and dinners, guests have visited the “Earl of Grey Hound's Mansion” and met quite a few “characters.” People are asking when the next series of our Murder Mysteries will be happening….watch for announcement in our winter newsletter.
We have been quite busy this summer with cooking and baking classes. The classes have been well received. Look inside to see which classes will be offered next. Autumn is filled with wonderful events and a wonderful harvest. Our very own “Apple Festival” was a great success and a pleasant way to celebrate the arrival of autumn! MMMM ~ all those wonderful ways of baking and cooking with apples.
We're really excited. Thanks to you our guests, we are thrilled to be celebrating our first birthday at Karen Ann's Tea Room.
The holidays will soon be upon us and we have a lot of special event teas, starting with Halloween. Grover Silcox, will be entertaining us with an “Evening of Edgar Allan Poe” on October 25 at 7 pm. On November 30 we will be hosting a very special princess and we are inviting you to join in the fun at our “Princess Tea.” We will follow this event with Tea and Chocolate Pairing, an Elegant Holiday Tea, Santa Tea, and back by popular request ~ “Christmas Around the World.”
Wow! A lot is happening and I didn't even mention the Trivia Dessert Tea Nights on the 2nd Friday of each month and the brand new Bakery at Karen Ann's (which opened on October 1.) Yes, all those delectable treats that you have enjoyed at the tea room can now be taken home along with many other sweet offerings. For those who would like to cut back on sugar, some of our baked goods will made with Splenda®. Please ask for those items!
There's so much to tell you, so, browse the website and find out more details.
Because you asked we have changed our hours and days of operation. As of October 1, 2008 we are now open 7 days a week and open every day at 9AM and close at 4:30 PM. The last seating will still be at 3PM but the bakery will remain open for take out until 4:30 PM.

Karen Ann’s Tea Room is a home where the door is always open to friends. I based the Tea Room’s philosophy of “Where the goodness of tea meets the comfort of home” from my experiences in life. Actually it was a young friend of 15 that came up with the slogan, she said “Aunt Karen, this is so you!” Tea always played an important role in my life. As a child I always enjoyed a cup of tea with my Grandmother. Most of the time “mom” was a coffee drinker but whenever I would visit we would share the time and have a cup of tea. Being from an Italian household there was always coffee percolating on the stove, but, it seems that I adopted my Grandmother’s English tradition of having a cup of tea after school or with friends and family. When Chuck and I were engaged the first thing I asked for on my Bridal Shower wish list was a proper tea pot for steeping tea. I started to experiment with various teas throughout the years and tea became the drink in our household. Whenever friends and family came by we sat over a up of tea. The dream of owning and operating a tea room has been there for me since childhood, back when I received my first child’s china tea set with a ballerina on the tea pot and my Easy Bake Oven™. Now the dream has come true. So, sit back and enjoy the flavor of tea, the special time shared with a friend, feel at home and become part of our family.
